Brian Gutiérrez Aramayo has always possessed an innate attraction to the visual image. While growing up, paintings, photographs and films always felt like a familiar but distant memory to him. Later in life, Brian discovered that he did have deep ties to independent filmmaking. One of his relatives was an integral part of the Latin American Third Cinema and his father traveled the Western hemisphere in his youth, capturing the stark beauty of the working class and the stillness of nature with his medium-format photography and 8mm documentary footage.
Brian set out on his own filmmaking journey when he moved to Los Angeles in 2006 before returning to New York in 2010 with several feature scripts, a few award-winning short films and an MFA from Florida State University's Film Conservatory.
If you want to know why Brian makes films, don't expect a simple answer. He approaches each video project as if it will be his last piece of work. Film is his way of life and the key to telling your story, selling your product or capturing your filmic essence.
